A villa with an ocean view. This quiet environment is only a one-hour drive away from the noisy city of Tokyo and is popular as an area of villas. People can enjoy everything related to the sea, such as the ocean view, marine sports, relaxing time, and extraordinary life from the private white sandy beach.
The site is designated a scenic zone with a strict building coverage ratio. Although it is an area of villas, it is adjacent to a busy national road along the coast and visible to a lot of people. The theme was how an extraordinary space could be created. I made a plan in which the entire building was covered with wooden louvers; thus, privacy is protected while achieving good spaciousness for the scenery. I changed the density of the louvers according to the surrounding environment to control what can be seen with the eyes.
By using the visual effect, the entire site can be spatially perceived in a three-dimensional manner and creates the atmosphere just like an overseas villa.
Inside the site, the outdoor living space is nicely equipped with an outdoor living room, jet spa, and swimming pool. By connecting the eyes to the sea over the water basin, the residents are overwhelmed by seeing the sea and scenery from every room.
